Faith

“I did not yet lose faith” was the first in a small series of paintings in gouache on found papers and cardboard. In the other paintings I fragmented the text in loose words, making a series of exchangeable painting, “keep, lose faith, do not, faithfully”

This period of lockdown really asks a lot of our mental abilities; sometimes I try to overrule my worries with positive energy, in this case by painting messages of faith. In every drawing process, I try to encounter new figures or friends, or give new glances into existing figures, creating depth in their personalities. Also news ways of composition, usage of texts, and the use of negative space are focus points in the small paintings.
