We are all mothers

A tapestry that shows my tender and sensitive relationship to my late mother. I have a quilt she made and gave me when I was young, and the quilt is decaying. This is the basis for the textile artwork that I covered with a new layer of patchwork of collected fabrics with personal meaning, a new layer of love, hand-applied with intrinsic craftsmanship, and on top of it a text expressing a mother’s love.
One of the applicator fabrics is a napkin depicting a poet by my brother Wibo Kosters.

This tapestry (2024) is part of a triptych together with the tapestry I made for my father  (2016) and a work in progress about myself as the son.
